Midtown’s Historic Icons Paved the Way: Project Unveiling 🏙️

 

The City of Daytona Beach, the Daytona Beach Housing Authority, and various community partners are set to unveil the "Midtown’s Historic Icons Paved the Way" project.

This installation serves as an artistic gateway between Dr. James Huger Park at the Dickerson Center and the Palmetto Park housing community. It highlights the contributions of nearly 100 local pioneers and neighborhood leaders whose work has influenced the development of the Midtown area and the city of Daytona Beach.

The project incorporates many individuals previously featured on the city’s Black History Month banners (2021–2025), reflecting Midtown’s history as a hub for culture, education, and leadership.
